So just what do you want from a professional wedding/event/portrait photographer?

Education:
You want someone who has taken the study of photography very seriously. I have taken many courses in various areas of photography from the Salt Lake Art Center and the New York Institute of Photography and have degrees in graphic design and marketing. I am a member of two professional associations, WPPI and IPPA and attend educational conferences regularly.

Experience:
You want someone with years of experience, shooting countless frames, covering a wide variety of events, working with all kinds of subjects and circumstances. I've been shooting most of my life. I spent three years in St. George, Utah, honing my abilities while working as a photojournalist. I've been building my wedding and event business ever since then.

Personality:
Good professional photographers need to be able to interact effectively with all kinds of people. They need to know where to be, when to shoot and how to put subjects at ease. They need to understand timing and to be good communicators. They are disciplined, patient, creative, problem solvers and good visual storytellers.

Service:
Just creating the images isn't enough. There has to be a vehicle in place that makes it easy for customers to finish the business, to order the copies they want. For example, I offer on-line ordering, so you can proof and purchase prints from the convenience of your own home or office. Just find the "gallery" of images you are interested in, check the specific images you want to order, then process your order. Your prints will be printed and delivered to you promptly, usually within about a week. That's faster than most "traditional" photographers provide and at terrific prices!

Quality:
When many people think of digital photography, they think of ink-jet prints. Or they envision a digital-looking "pixelly" print that would be clearly distinguishable and inferior to a conventional photographic print. Not so at Coray Photo. First, I capture images with top-of-the-line, professional Canon equipment (specifically, the 1D Mark II)! My prints are printed using state-of-the-art equipment that employs lasers to expose professional photographic paper and will hold their own against any film-based print.

Wedding Clients:

I have shot over 100 couples in the last three years, mainly along the Wasatch Front, but extending from Denver to Las Vegas. While I shoot a lot of local events, many of my clients are living outside of Utah.
